Commodity / Culture?

The meaning and purpose of art is here analyzed, investigated, interrogated and temporarily arrived at towards social justice, or, more subtle designs of commodity? As we continue to existentially fathom our world at the end of peak oil, weathering the storms of climate change and braving the metaphysical parabolas of propaganda, retrograde military economies, oppression and failed governmental policies including a presidency - where is art practice and to whom and what does it serve?
